Hi ho, hi ho, it's back to the Doc I go....
After going starch-free in August of 2013, the severe abdominal pain I'd experienced for an entire year before that went down to next to nothing. Now, approximately 18 weeks in, the pain is back, with it's annoying little buddy nausea. ARGH! For the last week it has been sharp and constant, worsening with movement, pressure and sometimes after eating (though I've found no correlation to specific foods). It wakes me often at night, which leaves me weakened and exhausted, and has my bowels moving 5-6 times per day. Mint or chamomile tea with a touch of cane sugar seems to alleviate the pain and accompanying nausea for a while, though my appetite has waned a bit and my weight continues to drop...I am at 99 lbs as of this morning. Time to return to my GI doctor as promised to myself and my friends if my weight dropped below 100.

charity drive - day 4
I'm doing a little better today with the nausea, which I'm really grateful for. The weather was nice this morning so I took a short walk down the block. My pain levels have risen, but not to an unbearable level...just the usual ache in my hands and some intermittent sharp pains in my feet when I sit or lie down, which I think are the result of my walk...not too smart of me to wear flip flops. Live and learn!
Day 4 is going well...I finished 3 more hats! :D

Charity drive - day 3
Last night was pretty rough. I woke several times gasping for breath, and continued to have difficulty breathing for several minutes before feeling ok enough to go fall back to sleep. This morning I stumbled a lot, but am walking better now. Despite the constant feeling of wanting to throw up, I did manage to make two more hats today. Yay! I decided to crochet them to add a bit of variety :-) Here they are!

A change
The stomach pain and nausea that began over 2 months ago has begun to let up. While still a bit tender in the tummy area, I can definitely feel an improvement. I still wake some nights with aching, but it's not as bad as it has been.
Also, I've lost 7 lbs in the last 2 weeks. I was worried at first as I seemed to be losing it very quickly, but it has leveled off now and is holding steady at about 122 which is still within the safe and healthy range for my height. This is also the first real clear brain day I've had in weeks. I took advantage of it and did some work on my disability appeal. I have less than 30 days to complete and mail it along with written statements and any new tests my doctor will order, so I'm glad I have the ability to work on it now.
